Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated September 28, 2026
This policy covers the health-related data Choo keeps, as required by Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar laws. It adds to our Privacy Policy, which covers everything else. Choo is made by Dominick Won; you can reach us at contact@getchoo.app.
The health data we collect
- Check-ins: how hungry you were before a meal, how full and how satisfied you felt after it, nausea (asked on the GLP-1 and bariatric programs), and any note you write about a meal.
- Meal pacing: when your meals started and ended, your pace between bites, the bites you tapped, and whether you paused partway through.
- Health answers, only with your consent: how eating quickly affects you (for example, feeling too full, or bloating and reflux), and whether you're eating with a GLP-1 medication or after bariatric surgery. The second answer sets your program track (general, GLP-1 or bariatric).
We collect this only from you, when you enter it in the app. We don't buy it or get it from anyone else.
Why we collect it
- To pace your meals and fit your program to you, for example a gentler pace and a mid-meal check-in.
- To show you your own history and how your pace and your fullness go together.
- To back it up to your private account, so it comes back on a new phone.
We don't use it for advertising, and we never sell it.
Who we share it with
We share health data only with Supabase, which stores your account for us in the United States under a contract that limits it to running Choo. Your health data never goes to our analytics tool (PostHog), our subscription service (RevenueCat), our crash reporting (Sentry), or any advertiser. We may disclose it if the law requires it.
Your consent
Choo asks before collecting your health answers, and you can skip them and still use every part of the app. You can withdraw consent anytime in Settings › Eating & your health › Forget my health answers, which erases them on your phone and in your account.
Your rights
- Know and access: ask what health data we have about you, who it was shared with, and for a copy.
- Delete: delete all of it yourself in Settings › Account & backup › Delete account, or ask us to. Deletion also removes it from Supabase.
- Withdraw consent: Forget my health answers, as above.
- Appeal: if we turn down a request, reply to our answer to appeal. If we still say no, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.
To make a request, email contact@getchoo.app from any address and tell us your request. Because your account has no email attached, we may ask you to confirm it's yours from inside the app. We answer within 45 days, and we won't treat you differently for asking.
Not medical advice
Choo is about pace, not restriction. It offers general guidance, not medical advice. If your doctor, dietitian or surgeon gave you different instructions, follow theirs.
